Hokies plummet in poll after poor showing |

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Virginia Tech failed across to board in a 23-3 loss to No. 8 Clemson, but coach Frank Beamer says it's way too soon to count his team out of anything.
Beamer recalled 2007, when Matt Ryan and Boston College pulled off a dramatic comeback in the final seconds at Lane Stadium, seemingly giving the Eagles the upper hand in the ACC.
He says he felt awful after that game, too, but not after the Hokies gained a rematch with the Eagles in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game and handled them easily.
This year's team can do the same, but has a lot of improving to do, and fast.
