Women's basketball coaches attend training program |

NEW YORK (AP) - Over 40 women's college basketball coaches went back to school this summer taking part in a 21/2-day elite leadership training program at Columbia University.
It wasn't about X's and O's or learning new offenses or defenses. These sessions were designed to help the coaches learn about themselves.
Columbia athletic director Dr. M. Dianne Murphy spearheaded the effort, helping come up with the curriculum that included collaborative and interactive learning sessions along with lectures and panel discussions at The Center for Coaching Excellence on Columbia's campus in New York City.
The feedback from the first two sessions, which included the executive board of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, has been really positive.
